Ouch. Dylan Owen and 2 relievers got blitzed for 19 hits and 13 runs tonight, with Owen giving up 10 and 7 to take his 10th EL loss.

Ruben Tejada (2) and Josh Thole (2) had multi hit games, while Ike Davis, playing RF (0 for 5, RBI (38), 3 Ks, .298), and Jose Coronado (0 for 3, RBI, K, .267) took 0-fers. Shawn Bowman was replaced by Jon Malo at 3b in the 6th inning. Bowman left the game with an injured arm after having a single banked off him.

Carlos Guzman (3) had the only multi hit game tonight, with Stefan Welch (0 for 4, RBI (35), 2 Ks, .287), and Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 3, BB, K, .266) taking 0-fers. The Mets overall had 9 hits and drew 3 walks, while going 2 for 8 with RISP, and left 8 on base.

Scott Shaw picked up the win with 5.2 decent innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks. Edgar Ramirez picked up his 3rd save with 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Kyle Allen's saved his best for the finish, he's gone 8 straight starts allowing 3 runs on less, and 9 of his last 10, posting a stellar 2.84 era over his last 10 outings, with a 4-3 record. Tonight he allowed just 3 hits and a run, along with 9 strikeouts (getting him to 105 on the season).

The Gnats gave Allen all the runs he would need in the 5th inning, blowing the game open with a 5 spot. Overall, the Gnats had 7 hits and 4 walks, while going 2 for 9 (.222) with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Mark Cohoon had another outstanding outing tonight, and Dock Doyle had a breakout game to lead the Cyclones to a 5-0 viger over the Tigers in game 1 of a twinight doubleheader. Cohoon went the distance, allowing just 5 hits and a walk for his 9th win of the season.
Doyle (3) and Richard Lucas (2), had multi hit games for the Cyclones, who in total had 8 hits and 4 walks while going 3 for 9 with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Jordany Valdespin (0 for 3, BB, K, .300), Ralph Henriquez (0 for 3, .236), John Servidio (0 for 1, 2 BBs, K, .185) and Matt Gaski (0 for 3, K, .210) all took 0-fers.
