Jenrry Mejia's second start off the DL was abbreviated to 2+ innings by rain, and he was charged with a run post-rain delay after Edgar Alfonzo allowed an IHR to score. Alfonzo picked up the win, despite allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 2.1 innings. Roy Merritt came into the game with the tying run at the plate, and he picked up the save after Connor Robertson faced a pair and retired neither.

The Mets offense totalled 10 hits and drew 6 walks, while going 3 for 7 (.429) with RISP, and leaving 6 on base. DJ Wabick (2), and Jose Coronado (2) had multi hit games, while Mark Kiger (0 for 2, run, BB, .219), took the only 0-fer. Ike Davis, who started the game yesterday, was removed today, replaced by Kiger at first.

Break up the Mets! Three days after pasting Jupiter with a 3 homer, 16 hit attack, the Mets turned their sights on Charlotte, pummeling the Stone Crabs with a 5 homer, 13 hit attack en route to a 10 run victory. Brahiam Maldonado, who had 2 homers in the game on the 16th, had two more tonight, his 13th and 14th of the season. Over his six last games, Maldonado is hitting .409 (9 for 22) with a 2b, 5 HR and 15 RBI. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Reese Havens and Carlos Guzman had 3 hits each, with each homering once. Zach Lutz (0 for 5, K, .283), Stefan Welch (0 for 3, 2 runs, 2 BBs, K, .287) and Richard Pena (0 for 2, run, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, .239) took 0-fers. The Mets were 3 for 9 with RISP, and left 6 on base.
