Eric Niesen fired a rain shortened CG 1 hitter tonight in picking up his 3rd EL victory of the season. The Mets backed him with 8 hits and a walk, while going 1 for 5 with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Josh Thole (2) and DJ Wabick (2) had multi hit games, while Shawn Bowman (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .294), and Salvador Paniagua (0 for 3, K, .197) and Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 3, .247) took 0-fers.

Um...wow. There are very few words left to describe exactly how many cans of whoop ass the Mets are opening up lately. Over their last 16 games, they've scored 114 runs (7.13 RPG), and are 11-5 over that span. Tonight they overwhelmed the Cardinals for 22 hits and 2 walks, while going a stupidly insane 10 for 23 (.435) with RISP, and leaving 9 men on base. Every regular except Richard Pena had a multi hit game, the top 5 in the order had multi RBI games, and 5 players were on base 3 or more times (not counting reaching on errors). Kirk Nieuwenhuis (4) led the multi hit parade. Nieuwenhuis is now batting 2.000 over the last 13 games.
Tim Stronach started and was awful, giving up 6 runs (5 earned) over 5.1 innings, but with the ridiculously insane offense, he picked up his 3rd win.

SAL A: Savannah 2/10/0, Rome 5/10/0
Eric Beaulac had his offspeed stuff working tonight (courtesy Mike Newman's tweetage), striking out 11 over 6 innings, but he took a ND, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits in 6 innings. Phillips Orta walked 3 and allowed 2 runs (both IHR John Church failed to strand), to take his 3rd loss in Savannah.
The Gnats offense had 10 hits and drew 6 walks, but went just 1 for 9 (.111) with RISP, while leaving 12 on base. Wilmer Flores (2), Nick Giarraputo (2), and Mike Moras (2) had multi hit games, while Josh Satin (0 for 3, 2 BBs, K, .283), and Evan LeBlanc (0 for 3, run, .176) took 0-fers.

APPY R: Kingsport 0/6/0 (first time being shutout all season), Elizabethon 5/10/0
The high powered Kingsport offense was totally stifled tonight, with Tom Stuifbergen and two Twins relievers combining on a 6 hit shutout. The Mets did not have an AB with RISP all game (another first - for the entire system), and left 4 on. Alonzo Harris (2) had the lone multi hit game, while Darrell Ceciliani (0 for 2, .234), Kurt Steinhauer (0 for 2, K, .339, replaced Ceciliani in CF), RJ Harris (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .294), Jeff Flagg (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .297), and John Semel (0 for 3, K, .212) took 0-fers.
Eduardo Aldama took the loss, his first, despite pitching decently (not terribly, at the vert least), giving up 3 runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings. Julio Bello and Tim Chism allowed a run each in their outings.

the orange is ok so is yellow.
get rid of the blue. you cant read it unless you have special glasses that you must use in designing the site.
i like ur stuff. you are entertaining and informative. your layout skills need work.
The background is dark blue...the blue shows up fine for me - that's what all the experimenting was about a couple weeks ago with the Buffalo rainbow, lmao.
