8/6 Minor League Report! GUZMAN, Rivera!

INT AAA: Buffalo 6/7/2, Columbus 9/12/0

Tobi Stoner and Eddie Kunz had this one for the Bisons, and it was ugly. Stoner gave up 5 in 5.1 innings, Kunz gave up 4 in 2.2 innings, though he got all his outs via groundball. Buffalo made a late charge, but fell short. Nick Evans homered in the loss, his 6th in Buffalo. He's now batting .256/.292/.477/.770 since returning to the Bisons from the Mets in July.

EL AA: Binghamton 5/11/1, Harrisburg 3/9/1

Dylan Owen bounced back from a miserable outing his last time out (3 ip, 6 h, 6 er, 4/2 bb/k) with a very good outing tonight, giving up just a run on 5 hits in 6.2 innings for his 4th EL victory. Since coming back to Binghamton from a 3 start demotion to St. Lucie, Owen has been brilliant, with a 3.76 era over 9 starts, and a 4-2 record. Removing his start 2 turns ago, the numbers are even better, with a 2.85 era in 8 starts, and a 4-1 record, with an average of 6 innings per start. Roy Merritt came in with the bases loaded and 2 out, and escaped that jam, and then Connor Robertson came in with the bases loaded and 1 out, allowing 1 of those runs to score, but nothing further, picking up his 9th save of the season.

The Mets offense gathered 11 hits and drew 6 walks, while going 5 for 16 (.313) with RISP, leaving 12 on base. The top two in the order (Emmanuel Garcia, Ruben Tejada) both were 0 for 5, Tejada added a K to his 0-fer. Garcia's hitting .249, Tejada, .282. Josh Thole (2), DJ Wabick (3), and Jon Malo (2) had multi hit games for the BMets.

Salvador Aguilar's rehab moved to St. Lucie tonight, and he pitched reasonably well, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits in 4 innings for a ND. Tim Stronach had a good outing piggybacking, giving up a run on 6 hits in 4 innings with 7 Ks for his 2nd FSL victory.

The Mets offense exploded for 14 hits and 5 walks tonight, while going just 4 for 20 (.200) with RISP, leaving 13 on base. Stefan Welch (0 for 4, run, K, .297) and Richard Pena (0 for 4, run, BB, 2 Ks, .238) took the only 0-fers on the night, while Francisco Pena (2), Zach Lutz (2), Carlos Guzman (4), Seth Williams (2) and Brahiam Maldonado (2) all had multi hit games.

Chris Schwinden went 7 strong innings, allowing just a run on 8 hits, but he took a tough ND. Phillips Orta allowed a run, on 2 hits and a walk, in the 8th inning to take the loss, his first of the season.

The Gnats managed just 6 hits and 2 walks on the game, while going 2 for 6 with RISP, leaving 6 on base. Eric Campbell (2) had the only multi hit game for the Gnats, while the top 4 in the order: Jefry Marte, Wilmer Flores, Sean Ratliff (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .279), and Josh Satin (0 for 3, BB, .301) all took 0-fers, combining to go 0 for 15 with a walk and 3 Ks.

Brandon Moore bounced back off three straight subpar outings (13.1 innings, 17 hits, 10 runs, 0-1, 6.75 era) with a very good one, giving up just a run on 4 hits in 6 innings for his 5th NYPL victory of the season. Matias Carillo threw a scare into everyone by allowing 3 runs in the 9th, but Bobby Gagg came in and choked the rally, getting the final out of the game and stranding the tying and winning runs on base, for his first save.

The Cyclones offense had 12 hits and drew 5 walks, while going 4 for 11 (.364) with RISP, leaving 10 on base. Luis Rivera (2), Nick Santomauro (2) and Scott Grimes (3) had multi hit games for the Conies, while Tyler Vaughn (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .282) took the only 0-fer.

The Mets faced Freddy Garcia tonight, and tagged him for 5 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) over 6 innings. Angel Cuan was briefly in line for the win, but surrendered a 3rd run of his own in the 6th inning, ending up with a ND. He pitched well for a 4th straight outing, allowing those 3 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Zach Von Tersch picked up the win with a scoreless 2 inning relief outing, Travis Babin picked up his 4th save.

The Mets had 8 hits and a pair of walks in the game, while going 2 for 7 (.286) with RISP, leaving 5 on base. Darrell Ceciliani (0 for 4, K, .267) and Alonzo Harris (0 for 4, run, .289) took the only 0-fers of the game, while Joe Bonfe (2) had the only multi hit game.
