New Orleans 4, Iowa 6
New Orleans was leading 2-0 thru 4, and Joselo Diaz was cruising, but ran into massive trouble in the top of the 5th, and didn't make it through that inning. The combination of Diaz and Jose Santiago allowed 5 in that inning, and that doomed the Zs. Offensively, Fernando Tatis was the only one who had a multi-hit game, thouhh 5 others had hits. Anderson Hernandez (.200) and Michel Abreu (.283) has 0-fers.

Binghamton 7, Akron 2, in 10 innings
So it took a little longer for the offensive explosion to come, but when it did, it did. Binghamton scored 5 in the 10th to take the series vs Akron. Nick Evans had 3 hits, all doubles, and 2 RBI, so I guess he can stay in AA for now. Mike Carp had a 2 run single in the 8th to tie the game, his only hit, and Dan Murphy had 2 singles and 2 runs scored. Joshua Petersen, a 25 year old utility man, had 3 hits to raise his average to .400 (in 25 ABs). Bobby Parnell had a decent outing, but allowed 2 solo homers in 5 innings, a bit troubling for a groundball pitcher. His GO/AO was 5:4. For the first time in about a week, the bullpen was outstanding with 5 shutout innings (Aguilar, Kunz, Marte).
Fernando Martinez (cf) 0 for 5, 3 Ks, (jeeze 7 Ks in his last 11 ABs)

St. Lucie 4, Brevard County 5
Gary Bakker blows tremendous chunks. No other way to put it. He is a god awful pitcher. In 7 innings, he's allowed 17 hits and 14 earned runs. And is 0-3 in 5 games. Why the diatribe? Well he was tabbed to close today (what a dumbass decision) and predictably got shelled for 3 hits and 2 runs in 0.1 innings. He walked 2 and allowed a homer.
Dillon Gee started for the Mets and went 5, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs, while walking 2 and striking out 4. I went off on the pitch count thing last night, so won't get into it tonight, but the same stands. Ryan Coultas blew a 3-2 lead in the 6th, but the Mets scored 1 in the 9th to take the lead with Bakker blew (cause he blows). Offensively, Lucas Duda had his 2nd homer of the season, and is a 4th corner infielder who is absolutely raking to open the season (not quite .400+ as the Trinity), but .320 isn't shabby. Brahiam Maldonado, Sean McCraw, and DJ Wabick took 0-fers.
Ezequiel Carrera (dh) 1 for 2, RBI, BB, .275
Ruben Tejada (ss) 1 for 4, .246

Savannah 5, Charleston 6
Savannah trailed all game as Scott Moviel didn't have it today, surrendering 4 runs, 3 earned, in 3.1 innings. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3, raising his ERA to an inflated 8.38. He did strike out 5, on the positive side. Maikel Cleto allowed a run in 2.2 innings of long relief, he struck out 5 as well. Offensively, Francisco Pena and Greg Veloz had multi-hit games, but the rest of the lineup was very quiet, just 4 hits. Matt Bouchard (.200), Richard Lucas (.225) and Darren Clark (.191) took 0-fers. Francisco Pena (2), Raul Reyes (1) and Darren Clark (1) drove in the runs.
Jose Jimenez (1b) 1 for 4, run, K, .239
Jordan Abruzzo (dh) 1 for 4, run, .583 (7 for 12)
