4/24 Minor League Report! Bostick, NIESE!

The Zs pounded out 14 hits en route to an 11-5 victory, and it wasn't even that close for most of the game. It was 11-1 before 4 UER scored off Tim McNab in the 7th. 6 Zs had multi-hit games, and only one went hitless (Fernando Tatis 0 for 3, run, .227). Adam Bostick was the recipient of the offensive explosion, getting his 2nd win of the season. However, it wasn't a cheap victory, he pitched very well.

Jon Niese had it going on tonight. He went 6 innings, giving up 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5, lowering his ERA to a sparkling 0.71. He's 2-1 on the season.

Fernando Martinez , and had multi hit games for the Mets, while Jose Coronado (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .282), Mike Carp (0 for 4, K, .420), Josh Petersen (0 for 3, BB, K, .340), Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 4, K, .216) and Ambiorix Concepcion (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .143) had 0-fers. The Mets are now 10-11.

Tobi Stoner made his season debut tonight, and didn't fare well at all, going 3.1 innings and giving up 4 hits and 2 runs. Jonathan Castillo, Roy Merritt, and Brandon Nall followed, none were effective.

Only four players had hits for the Mets, 2 with 2 (Ezequiel Carrera and Lucas Duda). Everyone else took 0-fers.

Edgar Ramirez gave up the game winner in the 8th, after coming on in the 6th to relieve Michael Antonini. Antonini went 5.2 innings, allowing 6 hits (2 homers) and 4 runs, 3 earned, while striking out 6. Ramirez went 3.1 innings, and gave up one hit (a homer) while walking 1 and striking out 2.
