That's right - all in one post. St. Lucie's game is over, they lost 9-5 and are now 4-21 on the season. New Orleans plays tonight @ 10pm
New Orleans 9, Tacoma 15
The Zs fell behind 11-2 after 5, scored 7 unanswered runs, and then watched Nate Field give 4 back in the 8th, short-circuiting any potential 9th inning rallies, dooming the Zs to a loss. Joselo Diaz didn't have it at all today, giving up 6 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits and SIX walks over 2.2 innings. Neither did Jose Santiago who relieved him (5 runs on 9 hits in 1.2 innings). Ivan Maldonado and Tim McNab did a good job of settling the game down long enough for the failed rally, before Field put the game out of reach for good.
The top 2 in the Zs order (AHern and Argenis Reyes) combined to go 1 for 11 with a double, RBI, and 2 Ks, but that's no excuse on a night the team scored 9. Michel Abreu and Chris Aguila had HUGE days, and no one took an 0-fer.
Anderson Hernandez (ss) 1 for 6, 2b, RBI, 2 Ks, .190
Argenis Reyes (2b) 1 for 5, .254
Michel Abreu (1b) 3 for 4, 2 runs, 2b, BB, .277
Caleb Stewart (rf) 1 for 2, 3 runs, 3 BBs, K, .222
Fernando Tatis (dh) 1 for 5, 2b, RBI, K, .224
Chris Aguila (lf) 4 for 4, 4 runs, 2 HR, 5 RBI, BB, .355
Jesus Feliciano (cf) 2 for 5, RBI, .309
Joselo Diaz 2.2 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 6 BBs, K, 2 HR, 4 era, L (1-3), 80:35:45 (P:S:B), 2:4:1
Jose Santiago 1.2 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 2 HR, 6.39 era, 52:37:15
Ivan Maldonado 1.2 IP, H, BB, 2 Ks, 8.25 era
Tim McNab IP, BB, K, 2.38 era
Nate Field IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 2 BBs, 2 Ks, HR, 7 era
St. Lucie 5, Palm Beach 9
So much for the 2 game winning streak. Claudio Vargas made his first start for the Mets today, going 5 innings and allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits. Eric Niesen pitched in relief and got blown apart for 7 runs, 5 earned, over 3 innings.
Good news on the injury front, as Ramon Castro played today and went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Lucas Duda, DJ Wabick and Brahiam Maldonado also had multi hit games, while Ezequiel Carrera (0 for 4, BB, K, .248) and Ruben Tejada (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .231, E (9)) combined to go 0 for 9 at the top of the lineup. Also taking 0-fers were Jamar Hill (0 for 4, RBI, K, .111) and JR Voyles (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .200)
Lucas Duda (1b) 2 for 3, 2 runs, 2b, 2 BBs, .337
Jason Jacobs (c) 1 for 2, run, 2b, K, .344
DJ Wabick (dh) 2 for 4, run, 2 RBI, BB, .272

duda is absolutely my favorite prospect other than fernando martinez. I like carp but every day duda gets hits. starting lineup with duda and martinez added to beltran, reyes and wrighte. Oh and everyones favorite church. we will be set!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL.
ReplyDeleteCarp and Evans are ahead of Duda on the chain, they're in AA. Duda's not making the jump from A+ to the majors by 2010.
It's either going to be Teixeira, or Delgado/Evans, or Carp/Evans in 2009.
