Binghamton 2, Portland 6
Jon Niese couldn't work around a 1 out 4th inning error by Dan Murphy, leading to his early departure and a Binghamton loss, dropping them to 8-8 on the year. After the 1 out error on Murphy (3b), Niese got the next hitter to fly out to left, then allowed 3 straight RBI hits, the last being a double, before being pulled in favor of Eddie Camacho, who settled things down, throwing 3.1 perfect innings, with 4 Ks, however, the damage had been done, and Justin Masterson (Red Sox) was dominant, throwing 5 innings of 4 hit, 10 K shutout ball. Multi-hit games for Fernando Martinez and Jose Coronado were just about the only highlight of the day for Binghamton. Every regular did end up with at least on hit, though.

St. Lucie 5, Vero Beach 10
Tim Stronach got clocked for 7 hits and 7 runs in just 3.2 innings, burying St. Lucie early. They did crawl back to within 8-5 after 4, but that would be as close as they would get, losing by a 10-5 score. Stronach also walked 5 and allowed 2 homers, an altogether forgettable start for the righty. Offensively, Ruben Tejada had 2 hits, and has a 13 game hitting streak, driving the 18 year old's average up to .265. In the last 11 games, he is batting .326/.380/.419/.793 (15 for 46, 2 2b, 3b, 6 RBI, 4/5 BB/K). Ezequiel Carrera, Lucas Duda and Sean McCraw also had multi-hit games. They really need to promote Jordan Abruzzo. In 24 ABs, he's got 13 hits, 5 runs, 2 2b, 3 RBI, and a .542 average. He was a college catcher, it's obvious he's better then the Sally League, and he's 23. Send him to the FSL already.
