New Orleans 2, Omaha 7
The game was tied at 2 heading to the 9th, and Carlos Muniz came in, having surrendered just 4 runs in 23 AAA innings. Now, naturally, you're a little on edge wondering why I brought that up. Well, it's because he surrendered FIVE today in just one inning, his ERA skyrocketing from 1.57 to 3.38, as he absorbed his third loss. That ruined an outstanding effort from Brian Stokes, he went 8, allowing just 5 hits and 2 unearned runs. The offense was stimied, with just 6 hits and 2 runs, 4 Zs took 0-fers, Argenis Reyes (0 for 2, RBI, BB, .268), Jesus Feliciano (0 for 2, run, BB, .313), Victor Mendez (0 for 4, .248) and Mike Nickeas (0 for 3, BB, K, .234), while Raul Gonzalez had the only multi-hit game.

Binghamton 8, Harrisburg 9
The BMets bullpen was simply atrocious today, taking a 3-1 lead after 6 and turning it into a 9-4 deficit after 8.5. The Mets rallied for 4 in the 9th, but Emmanuel Garcia hit into a very tough luck DP, lining out to LF, and Rafael Arroyo was out at home attempting to tag up.
The bullpen meltdown negated a very strong outing from Jon Niese, who went 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits and 1 unearned run, while striking out 7. Joe Hietpas relieved Niese to start the 7th and was abysmally ineffective, surrendering 4 runs (3 earned) on 3 hits while officially pitching no part of an inning. Eddie Camacho allowed 2 of Hietpas' IHR to score (part of a 4 run Harrisburg 7th, and then gave up 2 more of his own in the 8th. Tim LaVigne pitched a terrible 9th, allowing 2 runs on a hit and 2 walks.
Mike Carp had another huge day at the plate, going 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, a double, 3 RBI and a walk, raising his average to .363. I'd say he's ready for some cajun. Nick Evans had himself a good day, too, 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored, a double, homer, and RBI, he's batting .297 on the season. Saloman Manriquez and Jose Coronado also had multi hit games, while Caleb Stewart (0 for 4, BB, K, .265), and Emmanuel Garcia (0 for 5, .214) took 0-fers.

Brant Rustich had the longest outing of his season, as the conversion to start MAY be starting. He went 3 innings, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs (1 earned), on 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Threeerific.
