6/2 Minor League Report! CLETO!

New Orleans 12, Round Rock 4

New Orleans laid down an ass whooping tonight, opening with 4 and closing with 5 on their way to a waxjob 12-4 victory over the Express. The top 7 in the order had SEVENTEEN of the 18 hits. Tony Armas was the beneficiary of the offensive onslaught, picking up his 3rd win.

Tobi Stoner had a good, not great, outing (6.1 ip, 6 h, 3 r, 2 er), and the bats couldn't do much for him, only managing 4 hits and 2 runs, as the Mets lost for a staggering 45th time in their 57th game.

Ruben Tejada drove in a run with a double, the other run scored on an error. Josh Thole (0 for 4, K, .268), Pornstache (0 for 3, run, BB, K, .320) and DJ Wabick (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .266) took 0-fers among the regulars.

A tremendous pitchers duel today, with Maikel Cleto emerging the victor, as the Gnats beat Columbus 2-1. Cleto went 7, allowing 6 hits and a run, Jose Bierd pitched 2 scoreless innings for his 6th save of the season.

Savannah's run came in the 8th, on a Matt Bouchard solo homer and a Michael Parker RBI single. Parker was the only Gnat with more then one hit, while Casey Craig (.352), Jose Jimenez (.246), Francisco Pena (.254) and Joaquin Rodriguez (.265) all took 0-fers, the former 3 going 0 for 3, the latter going 0 for 4.
