St. Lucie 4, Tampa 5

Michael Antonini's FSL debut went much better then Angel Calero's did, but Antonini lacks the W Calero got (sweet justice for the injustices done in Savannah, lol). Antonini went 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, walking just 1, while striking out 3. Emary Frederick allowed 2 runs (none of which he was on the mound for) to allow the game to be tied in the 8th. It was German Marte who allowed both of Frederick's runs to score, so he was tagged with a BS. Casey Hoorelbeke finished up the game with 2.2 innings, allowing an UER on a Jason Jacobs error, his 3rd.

After a couple nights of cooling off (2 for his last 14), Ruben Tejada bumped his average back over .230, going 3 for 5 with a run scored. Ezequiel Carrera (0 for 5, 2 Ks, .256), Lucas Duda (0 for 4, run, BB, 3 Ks, .277), Jason Jacobs (0 for 2, RBI, BB, K, .225), and Matt Smith (0 for 3, run, BB, K, 2 for 12 (.167)), all took 0-fers.

Ruben Tejada (ss) 3 for 5, run, .235
Brian Burgamy (rf) 1 for 4, RBI, BB, K, .304
DJ Wabick (lf) 1 for 5, 2 RBI, K, .270

Casey Hoorelbeke 2.2 IP, 3 H, R, K, 3.48 era, L (0-2)

Savannah 2, Columbus 1

Maikel Cleto was outstanding tonight, going 7 innings for the 3rd time in his last 5 starts, giving up 3 hits and a run, but getting a tough luck ND. The Gnats scored a run in the 9th (on a Jacob Elgsti RBI 1b) to make a winner out of Nick Abel.

The top two in the order (Greg Veloz and Matt Bouchard), went 0 for 7 with a walk and K, which would be a good reason why they only scored single runs in the 1st and 9th. Casey Craig hit a solo homer in the 1st, and then there was Elgsti's walkoff single. Joaquin Rodriguez (0 for 4, K, .248) and Francisco Pena (0 for 3, BB, .247) took 0-fers.

Casey Craig (lf) 1 for 4, run, HR, RBI, .340
Jordan Abruzzo (dh) 1 for 4, 2b, 2 Ks, .306
Richard Pena (cf) 1 for 3, run, BB, K, .244
Carlos Guzman (rf) 2 for 4, K, .232
Jacob Elgsti (3b) 2 for 4, 2b, RBI, 2 Ks, .260
Maikel Cleto 7 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 4 Ks, 3.58 era, 11:5:4
Nick Waechter IP, BB, 2 Ks, 3.38 era
Nick Abel IP, K, 0.00 era, W (1-0)
