Nate Field and Ivan Maldonado finished off the game with 3 scoreless innings.

Brooklyn 4, Aberdeen 2

Before I start the recap, thanks to Adam Rubin for posting Brad Holt's pitch count on his blog (http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/mets).

Holt was in complete command today, giving up just a walk in 5 innings, striking out 6. He had a 2:1 strike to ball ratio (54, 27), and got 6 groundouts and 3 flyouts along with 6 Ks. Brandon Moore pitched no part of an inning, giving up 2 runs (1 earned). Rhiner Cruz, Matias Carrillo and Yury Santana finished off the game, Santana getting his 4th save.

The offense had 15 hits tonight, as opposed to the 6 in 12 innings last night, but only 4 after the 5th inning (mirror image of the Mets, much?). 5 players had multi hit games, all of them were sorely needed, for different reasons. Ryan Church, making his first appearance since a PH AB a few weeks ago, went 3 for 3 with a run, 2b and RBI, and he played the field. Good to see, hope he is back tomorrow (DH in the YS game). Matt Bouchard, Zach Lutz, Eric Campbell and Josh Satin also had multi hit games, while Will Vogl (who took over for Church after the 5th - 0 for 1, run, K, .150), and Luis Alen (0 for 4, .000) took 0-fers.

Kingsport 8, Pulaski (the doctor on the Enterprise D????)3

Another night, another romper room day for Teen Sensations Wilmer Flores (16) and Stefan Welch (19). Tonight, they combined for 7 hits and 7 RBI, and are now batting .400 and .364 on the season, respectively. See folks, this is what Pedro Martinez' signing got you, high end Latin talent signing for less to join the Mets. Now if only...(something something slotting system, something something cheap). Ahem, right. Oh yeah, lest I forget, 19 year old Rafael Fernandez also had 3 hits, so the Three Teens combined for 10 of Kingsports 12 hits. Nice. Ignacio Medrano (0 for 4, run, BB, K, .333), Pedro Zapata (0 for 2, K, .077), Gabriel Zavala (0 for 3, .231), Mike Moras (0 for 5, K, .091), and Doug McNulty (0 for 4, .077) took 0-fers.

Collin McHugh started and went 3, allowing 2 hits and 5 runs while walking 3. Mark Cohoon got the win with 3 scoreless innings of relief, Michael Danger Powers got his first save.
