6/4 Minor League Report! Parnell, TEJADA, GEE!

Binghamton 6, Harrisburg 4

The Mets roared out to a 6th inning 6-0 lead and held off a late charge to beat Harrisburg 6-4. Bobby Parnell was very strong tonight, getting 10 of his 17 outs via groundballs (obviously a DP), and 5 on strikeouts.

The offense was paced from the mid-bottom, with Mike Carp, Ambi Concepcion and Josh Petersen (5-6-7) each having multi hit games, and combining to score 3 and drive in 4. Jon Malo had 2 hits out of the leadoff spot, while Jose Coronado (0 for 3, run, 2 BBs, .248) and Caleb Stewart (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .263) took 0-fers.

St. Lucie 8, Brevard County 4

Dillon Gee had his best outing of the season, pitching 8 strong innings, allowing just a run on 4 hits, striking out 5, as the Mets won their 2nd straight, 8-4 over Brevard County.

The bottom of the St. Lucie order 6-7-8, (DJ Wabick, Ruben Tejada, Joe Holden) went 7 for 11 with 5 runs, 4 2b, 2 RBI and 3 walks, pacing the offense. Ezequiel Carrera returned to the lineup for his first game since May 16th, and went 0 for 5 with 3 Ks, and is now batting .237 on the season. Josh Thole (0 for 3, BB, .261) had the other 0-fer for the Mets.

The Gnats haven't scored a run in 17 innings after their 5 homer, 7 run outpouring during yesterday's first inning. In fact, they only managed 4 hits today in losing 2-0. Jordan Abruzzo, Jose Jimenez, Richard Pena and Jacob Elgsti had 4 singles, everyone else took 0-fers.

Elvin Ramirez only managed to go 3.1 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks, along with 2 runs. Edgar Ramirez pitched 2.2 perfect innings in relif, and John Holdzkom allowed just 2 walks in his 2 innings, but the offense could get nothing started.
