Round 1, PIck #22

David Reese Havens SS/South Carolina

Wow - what the HELL?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Whoever's running this draft should be shot in the head. Repeatedly.

We took the 29th and 30th best talent at the 22nd and 18th picks. Typical fucking mets. Good job, assholes!

  1. This is the feedback from ESPN, why the anger, we have NO bats in teh system:

This is a great pick for the Mets. He makes all the plays at shortstop because he reads the ball off the bat so well. At the plate he has excellent pitch recognition and hand-eye coordination. If he has to move to second base because of the presence of Jose Reyes at shortstop, he has more than enough bat. Havens has a great approach and instincts, and he should move quickly through the Mets' system.

  2. Bats-
    Carp hitting .344
Evans who should come down soon
    Murphy

    just to name a few.

  3. Lucas Duda
    Fernando Martinez

We have bats, especially at the corner infield position.

Reese Haven I would've been OK with at 33, he's a big reach at 22.

  4. That's fair but lets be realistic, we can move him to 2nd or C since we have no real legit prospects there...More then likely he's not staying at SS, as a two bagger or catcher he has a pro bat...

  5. Honestly, i like the Mets draft so far...Davis has an awesome bat, Havens could be our 2b or C of the future and also has a very polished bat, i didnt like the Holt pick, loved the J-Rod pick, dont know much about the 3rd rounder tho. Sorry i dont have more insight..I'm in california and i have no internet connection so im on my phone. Dont listen to Tej, he overreacts and doesnt really know much about the draft anyway. Oh and Melville is dropping like a rock, he wants 5 mil to not go to college...its not gonna happen, he has a very strong commitment.
